From 16 October 2024 to 24 February 2025.

From 16 October 2024 to 24 February 2025, the Fondation Louis Vuitton presents ‘Pop Forever, Tom Wesselmann & …’, an exhibition devoted to Pop Art, one of the major artistic movements of the 1960s, whose presence has continued to assert itself on every continent and for every generation.

Left: “Ice Cream 1”, 1964.

The exhibition focuses on Tom Wesselmann (1931-2004), one of the movement’s leading figures, through a selection of 150 paintings and works in various materials.

Alongside the masterpieces of Tom Wesselmann’s work, the exhibition brings together works by artists chosen from all over the world, of different nationalities and generations, for a rich journey that is always ready to surprise and bounce back. It includes the best-known artists – Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol – as well as women artists who have been left out of the mainstream for too long – Evelyne Axell, Kiki Kogelnik, Marisol, Marjorie Strider – and those recognised as the originators of the movement – Marcel Duchamp, Kurt Schwitters – and the champions of a globalised contemporary pop – Jeff Koons, Ai Weiwei – or artists looking Tom Wesselmann ‘in the eye’ – Derrick Adams, Mickalene Thomas, Tomokazu Matsuyama – and also the younger generation expressing their own vision with talent – with Lauren Halsey.
