The Delta is joining in the tribute to photographer Pierre Dandoy (born 27 January 1922 in Namur, where he died on 17 February 2003), an artist well known to the people of Namur.
From 4 July to 15 October 2023.
In the museum space, the exhibition brings together a series of archive photographs of another Namur artist: Evelyne Axell.
Most of the photographs have never been shown before, being negatives that have never been printed. Taken between 1959 and 1962, when Axell was working mainly as an actress and television presenter, these astonishing images bear witness to the friendship and artistic complicity between the two artists, and question the inventive relationship between photographer and model.
A display table presents various documents, including a handwritten note from Evelyne Axell to Pierre Dandoy, ending with the words: “Au revoir Pierre, à cause de toi, Namur a, pour moi, un autre visage” (Goodbye Pierre, because of you Namur has a different face for me).
