Axell and Lucius come together again.

Ten years after the release of Lucius debut “Wildewoman” album featuring Evelyne Axell’s “Ice Cream 1” on the cover Lucius has signed with Fantasy Records for an all-new re-recording of the group’s seminal album.

The new version of the album has a different cover — but by the same painter, Evelyne Axell. Axell’s work has been strongly embraced by young people around the world who see her as a member of their generation. That modern connection now extends to other pieces in Axell’s collection.

Admirers of Axell’s bold and symmetrical geometric colors, Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig have selected 12 other works, mainly dating from Axell’s early period between 1964 and 1966, to be animated for the music videos of each track of the album.

The first single, “How Loud Your Heart Gets (The New Recording),” is out now, with an accompanying music video based on the painting “Auto-stop” (1965).

An extra track, to be included in the CD only, has also been released and the video is based on “La conductrice et son double ou Les DS” (1965).
